Bauble breaking – drop weight tester

You can tell a lot about how materials behave by breaking them.

As part of Discover Materials this Winter we had a look at how baubles made from glass, wood, polystyrene, a ceramic or plastic when put into a drop weight tester which is basically a weight dropped from a certain height onto an object in a controlled manner!
