Discover Materials Ambassadors at the Festival of Tomorrow

We returned to the Festival of Tomorrow, Swindon on the 21^st and 22^nd of February, 2025 and, over two engaging days, we had the pleasure of interacting with nearly a thousand people and helped inspire them about materials science.

Our chocolate impact tester was a huge hit with the younger audiences, as were the UV beads and the water-repellent lotus leaves from our busking box. We had enthusiastic attempts from some visitors at ‘snapping’ the D30 science putty, and several questions about the shape memory—driven behaviour of our nitinol paper clips. Our setup of the object recognition experiment invited many excited queries, too.

Our DM Ambassadors (Tushar Bhudia, Alex Dickinson-Lomas, Frankie Hough, Henri Nela, and Durga Tilak ) had a wonderful time sharing their love for materials with the visitors.
