What is your current job / programme of study?

Characterisation Technician  

What A-Levels (or equivalent) did you do? 

BTEC National Diploma in Applied Sciences 

Why did you choose a career in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)? 

It uses a lot of different and interesting instruments to determine characteristics about materials. How it does that and how you analyse the results, to use the information learnt to improve upon materials is what really interests me.  

What is the coolest thing you have done in your career so far?  

Taking part in New Scientist Live 2022 

What do you see yourself doing in the future? 

A PhD! 

What is your favourite material (and why)?  

Iron – because of it’s history and the number of applications for which it can be used, that are essential for improving our lives.
