What is your current job / programme of study?

Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial College London 

What A-Levels (or equivalent) did you do?

Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics

Why did you chose a career in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)?

I loved the multi-disciplinary aspect of the field and how Materials Science and Engineering always sits on the forefront of human innovation.

What did you enjoy most about your MSE course? 

I love learning about the breadth of material applications from Metallurgy to Drug Delivery Molecules to Semiconductors and Lithography.

What is your research about?

Only an undergrad but I’m looking to specialise in Nuclear Engineering

What is the coolest thing you have done in your career so far?

In my first year I had the chance to look at renewable energy systems from not only a research perspective but also techno-market analysis, I loved exploring the intersection of commercial strategy with scientific innovation.  

What do you see yourself doing in the future?

 I’m still exploring so many aspects of my degree it’s so hard to say! 

What is your favourite material (and why)? 

Aerogel because the blue looks so nice, it almost looks tasty. (do NOT eat!) 

What advice would you give your 16 year old self?

Talk to new people and chase as many opportunities as possible even if they don’t work out
