Discover Materials Returns to Worcester STEAMFest 2026

Discover Materials was happy to be part of the Worcester STEAMFest at The Hive on 24^th January, 2026. It was a fantastic morning as we interacted with approximately 300 people in the space of only five hours. The team engaged in dialogue surrounding materials science and engineering with the guests. The newest addition to our display table, the materials sorting and recycling kit, garnered a lot of curiosity. The activity uses Lego cars and an illustrated sheet to help participants disassemble a racing toy car, and identify and sort the various materials that it is made of.

The chocolate impact tester was highly appreciated, as were the D30 putty, shape memory nitinol paper clips, and photochromic beads from our busking box.
