In2STEM students on film
During the school summer holidays Chris Hamlett hosted six 16-17 year old school pupils on an In2STEM placement at the School of Metallurgy and Materials at the University of Birmingham.
The pupils applied for the programme and explored a range of different areas of Materials Science and Engineering. They carried out tensile tests in the undergraduate labs, spent time with researcher in both the battery and magnet groups and they event visited the foundry where they saw the aluminium casting.
They then spent two days working with Jon Wood to plan, film and edit their very own science video which they decided would be on the lifecycle of aluminium.
